Belly Dancers and Vikings...must be Ashville

Image
It is that time of year again. Time for fun, fraternizing and furs at the Ashville Viking Festival.   Oh, and also for the beautiful bounty of belly dance that is the Odin's Orchids.     Saturday was rainy and cold, but we were solid Vikings and endured. I wasn't able to get a great number of pictures Saturday, because the rain was so steady, but I did get some gorgeous pictures of the Belly Dancers.   The lovely Coleen. The fierce Aerianna. Be on your guard. The wonderful Amani. So beautiful. The radiant Bonnie. Balancing an oar on her head. The fabulous Inari. Yowza! The incomparable Laylia.                Minstrel Woode meets Bob Ford and the Ragamuffins The Ragamuffins Janice!   Beth! Sunday was beautiful, and so many people came out to play. It's a mad, mad, mad March

March is always slightly chaotic in my world and this year is no exception. Birthdays, walks, parties, craft projects and belly dance are ruling my life. We got to watch a Strongest Man event, a little gymnastics and some amazing jump rope.                         The 14th was my birthday. Hooray 34! I decided that we should do a 5k for my birthday, so on an incredibly soggy March morning we slogged our way to the Pi D...

Blessed Mabon...swaps, apples and blugrass.

Image
Blessed Mabon to all! This weekend we went apple picking to celebrate, and to reap the rewards. Then we went to Thornville Ohio to the Backwoods Festival. I bought soaps from my favorite soap company Elder Forest Soaps, a wooden crow for the yard, a catnip toy for Sam, a sage lavender and flower smudge stick and some home made "pepper butter".     Today I received my Mabon swap package from the lovely Holistic Knitter. I sent her a set of prayer flags. She sent me a Mabon Dreamcatcher, an apple cozy and some autumn note cards.       Welcome Fall!!
