Foto Fridays - Awakening the Force

Image
The first full week of January was fun and full for me and mine. We saw movies and went bowling again. I started an online belly dance intensive and ATS Level 1 & 2 again. Christmas is now officially over and put away in the White house. I bought supplies to begin creating my first Tribal belly dance bra. I also signed up for my second 5k for 2016. I have my goals for the year in my journal. All in all it has been an amazing start to the year.   Saturday   On Saturday we saw the 9:55 am showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Imax 3D. It was amazing! Imax 3D glasses are not flattering.     Sunday   I bought new bowling shoes!! Love them so much. And they match my ball.     Monday   My nightgown has kitties on it. How cute is that?     Tuesday   D & D night with my gaming group.     Wednesday   My favorite hip belt has witches and bats on it. It ...

The Many Incarnations (and films) of Snow White

Image
I have a secret, I want to be Snow White when I grow up. She is by far my favorite fairy tale princess. When I was a little girl eating an hour could take an hour, because if it was a nice red one, I would take a bite and then collapse in a mock swoon and repeat ad nauseum until the apple was done. I wear a silver charm on my silver necklace that I wear all the time of my favorite heroine disney style. So imagine my excitement when I realized that not one but two new movies were coming out this year about my favorite girl, and one had Thor!! I have not gotten to see Mirror, Mirror yet, though I have read the book. This morning Seth and I went to see Snow White and The Huntsman. I liked it, but did not love it. Maybe I am a bit picky about my Snow White films, lol. I loved Chris Hemsworth as our Huntsman, he was hard, and tender, and well Chris Hemsworth. Charlize Theron did well being both human and super human as the wicked queen. The dwarves were made up of some amazing actors incl...

Countdown to Halloween.

Image
In the spirit of Halloween I thought I would countdown my top 10 Halloween movies. I am a movie fanatic and some of them are popular and high quality and some are not, but without further ado and in no particular order. 1) The Worst Witch - This was a tv movie from the UK that was released in 1986. It stars a young Fairuza Balk, Diana Rigg, Charlotte Rae and an amazing appearance by Tim Curry. It's really poorly made and very dated (in the musical number for Tim Curry it shows a beta max tape, seriously.) but absolutely fun. 2) Hocus Pocus - The year this movie came out I must have seen it 10 times in the theatre. It makes me laugh and has great musical numbers. You can't beat the cast: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. Disney done good.  3)  Something Wicked This Way Comes - This movie scared the pee out of me when I was younger. Another amazing cast and just generally a good film.  4)  Beetlejuice - Classic Tim Burton, nuff said....
