Getting Schooled

Another semester of school is behind me. This semester was really hard for me, because I have to take more math courses since I switched my major, and Algebra II was on my schedule. I am proud to say that in spite of my mathematical ineptitude I still managed to get an A I also took my final prerequisite English class as well and also aced it. So it was a good semester overall. In fact I am quite proud of some of the papers I wrote for my English class. They were really good. And I'm not just saying that because I wrote them.  Summer courses start on the 20th and I am taking 10 credit hours instead of the usual 7 or 8, because if I take three classes a semester through next spring I should graduate with my associates of the arts this time next year. For summer I am taking: College math - which is intimidating as hell for me as the description includes the word trigonometry, yikes; American history to 1877 - which should actually be kind of fun; and Intro to Folklore - ...

Spring into Fitness Week 1 Update

Week one is over and here's where I am. I did really well on exercise. I got up at 5 and worked out 30-40 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and we did the big hike on Saturday. Tuesday I woke up with stomach pains and stomach issues and exercise do not mix, so I skipped my workout that day. Sunday was Easter and I just didn't get a chance to workout that day. I did fly a kite that day though, so I got at least a little exercise. For eating, I definitely ate more fruit and veggies. And during the week my eating was awesome. I did a really good job of keeping myself healthy and portioned well. Saturday morning I was really bad. My family went out to breakfast before hiking and that meant the breakfast bar at Frisches. Buffets are my achille's heel. I just want to keep eating and you know not everything I'm picking up is healthy.Sigh. At least we did go hiking after, and I ate well the rest of the day, but still. Sunday I was really proud of myself, becau...

Getting Motivated by A Nu(de) Motivation

Earlier this year I went to the Dr and found out that I had put on a ridiculous amount of weight in the last year. A REALLY ridiculous amount...like 14 pounds. How the hell does that even happen? How do you put on that much weight and not really even notice, I mean I knew I had put on some weight but not that much, yikes. Well the other day someone posted a link to the blog   A Nu(de) Motivation . How inspiring are these women and so brave? Their idea...they are going to work on losing weight and getting healthy for a little over a year and at the end of that time they are going to be photographed nude. If you haven't checked out their blog you should. It's inspiring and comforting hearing how things are going for them and seeing how they deal with the challenges that present themselves everyday. So taking their inspiration I am going to start working on my own plans and goals. I have a couple of ideas so stay tuned because there is more to come. But it is definitely time f...

Sleep Interrupted.

For the past year at least I have been having these incredibly vivid, active and exhausting dreams. It's not quite nightly, but several nights a week and every time I wake up I feel like I spent all night running. And sometimes I did. The main themes of the dreams are mazes and being chased by unknown entities. The locations change almost every time. Recently my long deceased grandparents have begun appearing as well. I am absolutely aware that my subconscious  is trying to tell me something. I just have no clue what it is. A few months ago my subconscious got sick of trying to get through to me which led to me having a dream that I was a personal assistant for a vampire. He decided that he wanted to move to Philly and was getting mad at me because I was dragging my feet at telling Seth that we were going to have to move. Finally the vampire just looked at me and said " You're resistant to change". That's subtle. I think it's time I did a little divinati...
