March Maddness

Image
This has absolutely nothing to do with basketball. Sorry if that is disappointing to anyone. http://www.123rf.com/photo_4065947_the-month-of-march-done-in-vintage-letterpress-type.html It is March. My birthday month. Seth's birthday month. One of my favorite months. And as usual a super busy month. I will be posting a lot and sharing a lot, so just for fun I thought I would give you a quick overview of March. In order by occurrence my month is going to look a bit like this. Oral exam for spanish, Biometric screening, Hafla, Burlesque show, Hockey game, Pi day 5k, Ohio Roller Girls, Boot camp starts, Psych exam, My birthday, Spanish exam, St. Patrick's Day, Birthday shopping day with mom and sister, Ostara,  Egg decorating party, dinner for Seth and I's birthday with friends, Seth's birthday. And that is March. So far.

New Glasses and Roller Derby

Image
On Saturday I picked up my new glasses. I really like them and think they will be very apparent for a while.I will get a better picture soon. This was taken at halftime during the bout. :) Later in the night we went to see the Ohio Roller Girls in their first bout of the season against the River City Roller Girls out of Virginia. While there I bought a book about Derby and a tank top from the River City Girls. We won both bouts as you will see in the next couple photos. I forgot my camera (sad) so these are from my phone. Better pictures next time I promise. The first bout was our Gang Green (the B team) vs. their Warriors (also the B team). Yep...we were leading 160 to 13 at the half in the first bout.  And the final for the first bout 294 to 41.  The second bout was their main team vs. our all stars. This bout was a little more balanced. And maybe one of the most action packed bouts I have seen in a while. It was great fun. I yelled a lot.  This is the scor...

I have my first Wannabe clinic for the Ohio Roller Girls tomorrow. Yay!! I'm so flippin' excited. Hopefully it will go well. I haven't actually skated in a while. Wish me luck. Hopefully I can get a full blog out later this week. I have lots to share. And so much going on . It's a little ridiculous.

March is over...

Where the hell does the time go? Sheesh. School started back up this week and I am getting back into the swing of a new schedule and going back to work after a week off. Craziness. I have all kinds of craft projects going right now. I am working on my roller derby and labyrinth craftster swaps, and the art journal with Aradia's Cauldron. Plus just stuff for myself. :) Having my craft room all semi- set up and mostly functional is amazing. I love my little space. I have this amazing fabric that I am going to make valances out of to hang in there, and I have some grand painting plans to make it my own little girly sanctuary. This weekend I went to go to my first Ohio Rollergirls bout of the season. They were playing Hard Knox Roller Girls out of Knoxville TN. Our girls won both bouts in the double header. Gang Green beat their B team the Brawlers 152-96 and the OHRG All stars beat their A team 207-105. They were great bouts, super exciting. Hard Knox had some amazing players: S...

Crafting, Thrifting and Roller derby!!!

Image
I am currently working on the Jar of Whimsies swap from Craftster and I am so pleased with how my "jar" is turning out. I bought an old silverware storage box at a thrift store and gutted it. I am doing things to both the outside and inside. I finished the inside this morning and am so pleased with how it turned out. I will post pictures once it has been received. I have really had fun with this swap and I can not wait to get it together and send. I feel like I'm being a tease but I am not sure if my partner has been looking at my blog and I don't want to spoil the surprise.  Speaking of thrift stores, we went to the thrift store this morning and I felt like I hit the mother load. Sometimes your thrift luck is just better than others. I spent $7.93 and got a large bag of maps and envelopes and map envelopes, a bag of buttons, a book of Korean children's church songs, a bag of old wooden alphabet blocks, a stamp of a human skeleton, a bag of miscellaneous Hallowee...
