Blessed Mabon...swaps, apples and blugrass.

Blessed Mabon to all! This weekend we went apple picking to celebrate, and to reap the rewards. Then we went to Thornville Ohio to the Backwoods Festival. I bought soaps from my favorite soap company Elder Forest Soaps, a wooden crow for the yard, a catnip toy for Sam, a sage lavender and flower smudge stick and some home made "pepper butter".     Today I received my Mabon swap package from the lovely Holistic Knitter. I sent her a set of prayer flags. She sent me a Mabon Dreamcatcher, an apple cozy and some autumn note cards.       Welcome Fall!!

The Honey Festival, Bowling and finishing my degree

This weekend mom, Seth and I headed to Lithopolis, Ohio to attend the honey festival for the first time. It was a fabulous little street festival. And there was so much delicious honey. I could have spent hundreds of dollars on honey. I somehow managed to hold off that urge, but it was really hard. I talked to a lot of really nice people though, found a goat farm named gallifrey farms (the owner was so excited when I got it), got a lot of compliments on my camera strap and ate some fantastic pizza at a place called JRs in downtown Lithopolis. I purchased a hand painted candle holder with bees/hives on it, several packets of heirloom seeds, Seth and I's initials carved from books, an herbal honey that can help with anxiety, cinnamon honey, lemon verbena honey and buckwheat honey. Before we left my mom had a little visitor. Beautiful tabletop beehive Bees hard at work making the festival possible Blacksmith plying her trade. She is my hero, and she of...

It's FALL!!!! My favorite season. Time for leaves falling, pumpkins, hot cider, soups and stews, a chill in the air, sweaters, the colors, Samhain/ Halloween, Hiking... ah...autumn I have been waiting all year. Mabon was this week and I took a couple of pictures of my altar and thought I would share. So here is Walter the Altar all dressed up for fall... I am jokingly thinking of it as my falltar. And how great are those fall candlesticks which were $1.99 each at Goodwill. I also got my Fall wreath together and up, though I may be altering it a bit. I think the little fat bird is a bit too much. What do you think? This weekend is the Country Living Fair at the   Ohio Village . I am going with my mom and my Aunt Annie on Saturday. I'm really excited and hoping that I can get some pictures to share.
