Tying-the-knot Tuesdays - Weddings and other disasters

It's official, there is a very little over a month until the wedding. My life is becoming all wedding all the time. But it will be here before I know it and afterwards I will be married to one of the most wonderful men I have ever met. Makes it all seem worth it somehow.

I have to tell you a story that starts out amazing, gets really scary (and kind of funny in hindsight) and ends back at amazing. I have said before that I was having trouble with my dress, like that it didn't fit. I considered buying the same dress in a larger size, but my color was retired. We went to talk to David's bridal and they said that the dress could probably be let out. Mom and I were going to take the dress to the shop on Tuesday, August 21, so on Monday night when Seth got home at 11:30 or thereabout, I decided I should try the dress one last time. And IT FIT!!! It zipped up with little to no problem and looked fabulous. I danced about for a minute in celebration and then asked Seth to get me back out. And the dress would not unzip. It went about a half inch down and would not go any further. Seth would zip it up and pull down and it just stuck at the same place every time. He yanked with all his might, and nothing. He pulled and pulled until eventually the zipper pull came right off. I turned the dress around, which tells you it was not too tight, and worked at the zipper myself with pliers and everything I could think of. Then Seth  worked on it some more. This went on for close to a half-hour, and by that point the zipper was actually starting to rip loose from the dress, so finally I asked Seth to get my seam ripper and I literally ripped my way out of my wedding dress!! I called my mom in the morning to tell her what happened and she was impressed by my calm head, and told me to bring the dress and we would go buy a new zipper and she would put it in. Looking at it later, it looked like there was a bad spot in the original zipper and once it had an actual body pressing against it it locked and pushed and would not come back down. Mom has replaced the zipper now, and  the dress still fits!! I have a dress and only mild emotional scars. lol.

It's all starting to come together. Mom is back on track and ready to officiate. Our photographer met with us last week, and I feel amazing about her, not that I had any doubts, she's a friend of the family. All my worries are finally getting worked out.

Yay!! Total Excitement! Congratulations on the dress working out. I think it was best that the little snafooo with the zipper happened well before the actual day. Now you have a fully working zipper, yay! I love your hair with the hat and veil, looks absolutly perfect!
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
