Goodbye to my hair

 
My first big change of the year happened last Saturday. I went to see my favorite stylist Adam at Lucky 13 Rock and Roll Hair Salon. He cut off over 10 inches of my hair which is being donated to wigs for kids. That initial cut was a little startling, but I love my new hairstyle. It is so much lighter.
 
Friday is my birthday, and my mother and sister are taking me to Ikea for the first time. Saturday Seth's parents are taking the two of us to the melting pot, and the Saturday night we are going out to eat and bowling with my family.
 
It's going to be a great week.

Mad Tea Party 2011

Welcome to my Party!! Feel free to grab a cup and a chair.  The table is set and waiting.  Pretty veggies... All kinds of berries... The tea service awaiting the first guests... Zoe looks frightened...she doesn't trust mad people (how does she live with me? lol) I am all dressed up and ready to party.  With my cupcake socks.  And my tiny top hat (received in an Alice swap)  Cupcakes, Berries and are those cucumber sandwiches.  Pouring the tea for my party guests.  Berries, Candy and a full cup o tea.  Quoi??  Having a chat with my very mad Mother.  My Mothers amazing tea hat.  4 pots of tea consumed hundreds of laughs  good friends lots of food What a fabulous party!!  Thank you for stopping by, have a fabulous tea day.  Clean cup, move down. Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style.
