Parties, parties and more parties

This weekend I hosted two holiday parties. A holiday tea for the ladies in my families. I asked all ladies to wear a holiday hat. We had a small but fabulous turnout and this is what it looked like.



















We also had our holiday party, for my friends and family later, that we also had a smallish but lovely turnout. Apparently there were a lot of parties that night, so I think there was a lot of moving about and missing things. We had an ornament exchange where I challenged everyone to find the most bizarre or unusual ornaments they could find. A couple of them are pictured below. 

























Overall it was a lovely party Saturday. Then on Sunday we went to the zoo. More posts to follow.

Mad Tea Party 2011

Welcome to my Party!! Feel free to grab a cup and a chair.  The table is set and waiting.  Pretty veggies... All kinds of berries... The tea service awaiting the first guests... Zoe looks frightened...she doesn't trust mad people (how does she live with me? lol) I am all dressed up and ready to party.  With my cupcake socks.  And my tiny top hat (received in an Alice swap)  Cupcakes, Berries and are those cucumber sandwiches.  Pouring the tea for my party guests.  Berries, Candy and a full cup o tea.  Quoi??  Having a chat with my very mad Mother.  My Mothers amazing tea hat.  4 pots of tea consumed hundreds of laughs  good friends lots of food What a fabulous party!!  Thank you for stopping by, have a fabulous tea day.  Clean cup, move down. Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style.
