Holiday Prepping

We had our first family Thanksgiving at our house last weekend, and it was highly successful. We realized halfway through that we had taken no pictures, which was truly unfortunate since our turkey turned out so well. It was awesome, even if we don't have any proof of it. Then we had 3 more dinners over the course of the week. Wow, so much food. I think I ate more this week than I had in the rest of the month of November. And I enjoyed every bite. :)

Yesterday I started decking the halls yesterday. I got my two big trees up, lit and decorated, ran lights along the bannister, and started setting up my Yule altar. I got my hands on a tablecloth that had been my grandmothers, and I used it as an altarcloth. I love how it looks and how it makes me feel connected to her.

Today I went to see my favorite stylist, Adam at Lucky 13 hair salon, and got my hair cut. I wanted a change, but did not want to lose any of the length. So I decided I wanted bangs. I haven't had them since I was in middle school, so I decided to give them a go again. I wanted them long and thick, and that is what I got. I really think they look cute. I'm not smiling in the picture, because I was getting frustrated. I hate taking pictures of myself.

We have all kinds of plans this weekend including getting a new bed, seeing my mom and aunt in a Christmas concert, seeing a friend do her first bellydance performance, and going to village lights with friends on Sunday. Craziness. Many pictures to come.

I haven't started decorating yet (I'm moving in two weeks) so I will delight on your preparations. Glad the dinner went so well, tasted so good, and lasted so long ;-)

P.S. I am sooo jealous of you getting to spend some time at a Lucky 13 anything!
