I Won an Award!!!



K from Banterings of a Basketcase gave me an awesome award that really made my day. I was totally bragging about it to people who had no idea what I was talking about. lol. I can honestly not remember which blog led me to K's but I loved her personality and hit follow...and I'm glad I did.  So here is the award.

And here are the rules...

3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic! Okay...I am also going to alter this part a bit. I am going to give this award to four blogs two that I have been following a while and two that I have just recently begun to follow. :)

First things first though.... 7 Things about myself. 


1) I am a proud pet mother. I have a 3 year old chihuahua, Zoe and an almost year old cat, Samhain. That picture of the kitten was from when we first got her...That is a netbook.

2) I am a high soprano and was planning to go to school for Opera or Musical Theatre initially. Life has derailed that but I still love to sing and perform. 

3) I was the "other mother" for my now 19 year old sister and we are super close because of that. 

4) I carry a parasol on sunny days, which is apparently a lost art, because I get really strange looks. 

5) I am a huge fan of all things Jim Henson and by the Jim Henson studio. 

6) I am a member of the International Wenches Guild. 



7) I will be thirty next year. :)

ah- see why we get along? I wanna be a wench, I love furry things like dogs and cats, I wanted kermit to be my boyfriend when I was a kid, and although I forget to carry them, I own a few parasols!

Mad Tea Party 2011

Welcome to my Party!! Feel free to grab a cup and a chair.  The table is set and waiting.  Pretty veggies... All kinds of berries... The tea service awaiting the first guests... Zoe looks frightened...she doesn't trust mad people (how does she live with me? lol) I am all dressed up and ready to party.  With my cupcake socks.  And my tiny top hat (received in an Alice swap)  Cupcakes, Berries and are those cucumber sandwiches.  Pouring the tea for my party guests.  Berries, Candy and a full cup o tea.  Quoi??  Having a chat with my very mad Mother.  My Mothers amazing tea hat.  4 pots of tea consumed hundreds of laughs  good friends lots of food What a fabulous party!!  Thank you for stopping by, have a fabulous tea day.  Clean cup, move down. Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style.
