Country Living Fair 2011

On Saturday my mom and I headed to the Ohio Village, here in Columbus, for the annual Country Living Fair. This is the second year we have been in attendance, and it was just as great this year. I came out with many, many ideas and a couple of awesome finds. Because of the wedding I didn't do as much shopping as I wanted to, but I got some amazing pieces.

Right inside the gate was the cutest lemon shake up stand EVER!!

This is a cake tester... you pull one off each time you need to test a cake. 

Beautiful fall colored hand warmers...they are made from re-purposed sweaters
 and will look amazing under my peacoat. 

It was a great day and a great event.

it's so cool to see your pics from the fair. i hardly saw any of that stuff though i did see the lampshades and thought that i need to make some of them too! i dashed through there so fast i missed a lot i guess! i was there on friday. cute train case!

Mad Tea Party 2011

Welcome to my Party!! Feel free to grab a cup and a chair.  The table is set and waiting.  Pretty veggies... All kinds of berries... The tea service awaiting the first guests... Zoe looks frightened...she doesn't trust mad people (how does she live with me? lol) I am all dressed up and ready to party.  With my cupcake socks.  And my tiny top hat (received in an Alice swap)  Cupcakes, Berries and are those cucumber sandwiches.  Pouring the tea for my party guests.  Berries, Candy and a full cup o tea.  Quoi??  Having a chat with my very mad Mother.  My Mothers amazing tea hat.  4 pots of tea consumed hundreds of laughs  good friends lots of food What a fabulous party!!  Thank you for stopping by, have a fabulous tea day.  Clean cup, move down. Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style.
