A Change of Career...

A couple of years ago, well like 5 now, I left my job at Chase to go to the Aveda Institute for Cosmetology. Unfortunately I found out really late in the game that my financing would only pay for school and no cost of living at all, so I had to fore go school and inevitably I went back to work. But it's always been hanging there. I really felt that I would be an amazing stylist and still do. I had been doing my little sisters prom hair and such her whole life and I love to do it. So now many years later I am seriously considering looking at trying again to go to school for cosmetology. I want a more hand on career and I think this would truly make me happy. I'm going to set up a time soon to go talk to the Aveda Institute again and see if this time I can really make it happen. :)

Mad Tea Party 2011

Welcome to my Party!! Feel free to grab a cup and a chair.  The table is set and waiting.  Pretty veggies... All kinds of berries... The tea service awaiting the first guests... Zoe looks frightened...she doesn't trust mad people (how does she live with me? lol) I am all dressed up and ready to party.  With my cupcake socks.  And my tiny top hat (received in an Alice swap)  Cupcakes, Berries and are those cucumber sandwiches.  Pouring the tea for my party guests.  Berries, Candy and a full cup o tea.  Quoi??  Having a chat with my very mad Mother.  My Mothers amazing tea hat.  4 pots of tea consumed hundreds of laughs  good friends lots of food What a fabulous party!!  Thank you for stopping by, have a fabulous tea day.  Clean cup, move down. Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style.
